UPDATE YOUR CHROMEBOOK

Sometimes your Chromebook might have problems with websites not loading properly, or your webcam not connecting to a Google Meet like it should. Or maybe you have an app that's not working properly. Often a software update will solve these problems.

Your Chromebook will usually check for updates and download them automatically. However, you might want to check manually to see if there are any updates available for your Chromebook. Follow these steps to make sure your Chromebook is up to date!

  1. Turn on your Chromebook.

  2. At the bottom right, select the time.

  3. Select Settings icon (looks like a gear).

  4. At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.

  5. Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.

  6. Select Check for updates.

  7. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

This video walks you through those steps.
